Jamie Pryor

Jamie was born on a second generation family farm in a small rural farm community in Alberta. He was not only the youngest, but also had three older sisters. Growing up Jamie loved to be outside all the time and began working on the farm at a young age. Jamie moved away to college and after he graduated, he got married, settled in Okotoks, and had 4 wonderful daughters. Jamie joined the Calgary Police Service, working in many different departments over the course of 10 years.

In 2010, Jamie realized that he truly missed farming and wanted to give his kids the opportunity to grow up on a family farm. Jill graciously agreed to try to make a go of farming full time, and in 2015 they officially took over the family farm.

Jamie has always had a passion for business and has loved the challenge of farming. Over the past few years Jamie has become more concerned with the future of family farms in Canada, as all the costs (specifically farmland) have gone up so dramatically. Jamie is so excited about Succession Ag because it is a practical solution that can be used to protect the future of family farms in Canada. He considers it a privilege to work hard so that the next generation of farmers can have a way to continue this amazing way of life in Canada.

Jill Pryor

Jill grew up in a small farm community in Alberta, where her Dad was a partner in a Farm Equipment dealership.  Jill developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the land, and farming in her community.  Later, she moved to the city to pursue higher education, earning an undergraduate degree in counselling, after graduation her and Jamie got married and moved to Okotoks and had 4 beautiful daughters.

In 2010, Jill and the family made the decision to move back to Jamie's family farm. The transition was challenging, but she embraced the challenge of learning to operate machinery and manage the demands of agricultural life. While serving as a full-time farm wife and mother, Jill was able to earn a master’s degree in counselling. Jill works part-time as a therapist by offering guidance and support to those in need in her community. Her unique background allows her to integrate resilience, practicality, and empathy into her work, bridging the gap between rural living and mental health care. With a passion for both counselling and farm life, Jill is committed to helping others navigate life’s challenges while staying rooted in faith, family, and the farm. Jill is a dedicated therapist, farm wife, an excellent combine operator, and mother who blends professional expertise with rural life.
